Hook large village and civil parish, close by to Basingstoke, in the Hart District of northern Hampshire, England. The hook is just over 6 miles east of Basingstoke, 36 miles northeast of Southampton and just over 40 miles away from London. The nearest motorway is the M3; Hook is situated just north of Junction 5.
In recent years Hook has been expanded by building new developments including Holt Park residential district, Green Hart Park and Oakwood Grange developments. In 2019, Hook had a population of approximately 8,200 people.
Hook is home to the St John Evangelist Parish Church, which was completed in 1938. Hook also has a Roman Catholic church and an Evangelical church, which is known as Life Church and was funded by the founding family of Burberry, as Thomas Burberry was a Baptist who died in Hook.
Although Hook is a village, in recent years it is generally considered as a town, due to its rapid development over the last 40 years and rise in population.
Hook railway station is on the South Western Railway line and has direct links to both London Waterloo and Basingstoke, making the village popular for commuters to live.
